About Monica
Monica’s yoga journey began in 2015, following multiple surgeries for breast cancer. In the aftermath, she struggled with stiffness, weakness, and a deep disconnect from her body. Yoga became more than just movement—it was the key to regaining mobility, ease, and peace within herself. Through asana, pranayama, and meditation, she found a path to true healing—body, mind, and spirit.
Years later, long hours at a desk and computer led to chronic pain, tension, and postural imbalances. Over time, she developed TMJ, experiencing jaw pain, headaches, and deep-seated tension in her neck and shoulders. It was through Therapeutic Yoga and Somatics that she discovered a whole-body approach to healing—one that went beyond isolated symptoms to address the deeper patterns of tension caused by prolonged sitting and repetitive movement. By retraining her nervous system and reconnecting with subtle movements, she found profound relief, not just in her jaw, but throughout her entire body.
This personal journey fueled Monica’s passion for helping others move out of pain and into ease. She specializes in Therapeutic Yoga, guiding students in unwinding tension, restoring balance, and cultivating a sense of spaciousness—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that small, mindful movements can create lasting change, whether on the mat or at a desk.
Monica holds both her 200-hour and 500-hour yoga teacher certifications from Prairie Yoga and is currently pursuing her 1000-hour Therapeutic Yoga certification through Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute. Through her teaching—and her way of living—she gently guides students toward healing, resilience, and a deep sense of inner calm. Her goal is simple: for every student to leave class feeling better than when they arrived.
